The artwork should fill the viewer with amazement - said Juraj Jakubisko
Director Juraj Jakubisko opened in Brno exhibition of his paintings and serigraphs. The artworks are exhibited in the premises of the bookstore Librex on the Starobrněnská street. The exhibition titled Dream of imagination can be seen from 21 October till end of November 2010. Visitors have the opportunity to visit it every day of the week, from Monday to Saturday until 20.00 pm on Sunday evening to 18:00 pm.
“I had exhibitions in Italy, in Paris, even in the Presidential Palace in Bratislava. Of course several times in Prague and in other Czech cities, but the Moravian capital has the premiere for me” said with the joy of its premiere in Brno George Jakubisko.
Ancestor paintings are inspired by Juraj Jakubisko ideas that are carefully recorded in his famous - for 30 (!) - diaries. Small drawings in the diaries, which says a bit lightly scribbles are the basic impulses of his great literary and artistic realization.
His last exhibition Bathory and other horrors contained 80 graphics related to this film. Is again exhibiting thematically varied selection of different previous exhibitions, the link is, in addition to formal and aesthetic forms of art view the cinematic story.
Recently Juraj Jakubisko, a native from the Slovak Kojšova, addressing the issue “kojšovských veselek”, filled with humor, poetry, as well as nostalgia and memories of their native village, where during his childhood marriage lasted several days.
The graphics in his administration are closer to the method of engraving, lithography or even line drawings. His favorite technique of serigraph press through a sieve mill, this way you can even view photo. “For me it has the advantage that images can do besides lengthy film post-production film work, where do mix or loading music, it means at a time when big-time and this work reduces my anxiety of waiting,” he explains.
His artworks have recently took Miro Gallery, he is not a trader, I prefer to pass out to friends, or foundations to support a good cause.
